The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Seoul conducts Mobile Consular Service and Employment Welfare Service in Jeju
The Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Republic of Korea conducted a mobile consular service and employment welfare programme on 23 and 24 March 2024 in Jeju Island, where a significant number of Sri Lankans work and reside.
The Embassy organized this mobile service as a part of its community reach out programme. Approximately 50 Sri Lankans attended the event in order to obtain consular services, including the renewal of passports, document attestation, signing of affidavits and power of attorney. The Employment and Labour Welfare Section of the Embassy provided labour welfare services to the Sri Lankan expatriate community in Jeju Island.
H.E Savitri Panabokke and officials of the Embassy also visited a few manufacturing and fisheries sector companies in Jeju where Sri Lankans work, in order to look into the welfare of the Sri Lankan employees and to appreciate employers for providing job opportunities.
Given the demand and request of the Sri Lanka community in the Republic of Korea, several other mobile services are planned to be conducted in different areas of the country in April and May 2024.
