Sri Lanka Embassy in Seoul officially commences work for the Year 2025 with the clean Sri Lanka Oath

The staff of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Seoul, officially commenced work for the year 2025, on 1st January 2025, at a ceremony conducted in the Embassy premises.

The official ceremony began with hoisting of the National Flag of Sri Lanka by H. E. Savitri Panabokke, Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Korea and singing of the National Anthem.

The Staff of the Embassy observed two minutes silence in remembrance of all Sri Lankans who sacrificed their lives for the motherland, as well as those who lost their lives in the recent Jeju Air crash in South Korea. 

Addressing the staff, the Ambassador thanked them for their hard work and dedication of the past year and emphasized the significance of their duties and responsibilities to make changes in the lives of the people of Sri Lanka. She also appreciated the staff for their achievements made during the past year despite a number of difficulties and challenges. She encouraged the staff to continue to perform as a team to achieve the work targets of the new year.

Thereafter, the staff and visitors to the Embassy enjoyed a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast to mark the dawn of the New Year. 

As the second part of the ceremony, the staff of the Embassy joined the live streaming of the launching of the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ National Program at the Presidential Secretariat, which aims to steer the country to achieve a fruitful transformation in economic, social, cultural, moral and environmental aspects.

They took the ‘Clean Sri Lanka Oath’ and affirmed their commitment as public officials to join with this national programme devoid of cast, religious, or political prejudices to create a thriving country and a beautiful life for the citizens of Sri Lanka.
