Sri Lanka Pavilion wins best booth design at Seoul International Travel Fair 2024

The colourful Sri Lankan pavilion won the best booth design award at the recently concluded Seoul International Travel Fair (SITF) 2024 held at the COEX in Seoul from 9th - 12th May 2024.  The booth depicted the varied tourist attractions of the country and offered visitors and industry representatives with an introduction to the island nation's history, culture, cuisine, scenic beauty, wildlife and famed Ceylon tea. 

The pavilion was jointly organized by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Seoul and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB).  Officials from the Embassy, SLTPB, Sri Lankan Airlines and 14 Sri Lankan travel and tourism companies were at hand to provide information on the country's tourist attractions to visitors to the booth.

Participating Sri Lankan travel companies were provided with an opportunity to promote tourism to Sri Lanka by engaging in B2B meetings with South Korean travel agents, media representatives and potential travelers.

The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Korea, Savitri Panabokke attended the official opening of the Fair on 9th May and also participated in the opening of the Sri Lanka pavilion together with Ms. Chandima Abeyrathna, Minister (Commercial) of the Embassy, Mr. Chinthaka Liyanaarchchi, Assistant Director of the SLPTB, Mr. Dileepa Wijesuriya, Country Manager Sri Lankan Airlines and representatives of the Sri Lankan travel industry. During the event, she also met with representatives of the South Korean travel industry and media.

The Seoul International Travel Fair (SITF -2024) is oriented towards inbound, outbound, and domestic tourism markets and is the largest and the most well-recognized travel fair in the Republic of Korea.
