Sri Lanka discusses measures to enhance protection and welfare of Sri Lankan employees at EPS Conference in Muju


Sri Lanka participated in the annual EPS (Employment Permit System) Conference for Ambassadors of Sending Countries hosted by Human Resources Development Service (HRD) of Korea in Muju on 26-27 April 2018.


Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Manisha Gunasekera briefed the Conference on issues related to Sri Lankan employees and presented proposals of the Sri Lankan Government to enhance the protection and welfare of Sri Lankan employees in Korea.A presentation on the best practices of Sri Lanka under EPS was presented by Counsellor/Employment and Welfare of the Embassy Jagath Batugedara. Sri Lanka was among six countries selected to present its best practices at this year’s Conference.

 

The Conference was chaired by HRD President Kim Dong-man and was attended by the senior officials of HRD Korea as well as Ambassadors of 14 sending countries.  The Ambassadors also met the Governor of Joellabuk Province Song Ha-jin at a dinner hosted by the President of HRD Korea on 26 April.
