The Sri Lanka Embassy in Seoul conducts a Mobile Consular & Employment Welfare Service in areas outside Seoul on an annual basis in order to provide a wide range of services to the Sri Lankan community living and working in the Republic of Korea who find it difficult to travel to Seoul for consular & employment welfare related matters.

The following services are provided by the Embassy at the Mobile Consular & Employment Welfare Service:

  • Receipt of applications for : New Passports, Temporary Passports, Registration of Births, Police Clearance Certificates
  • Attestation of Affidavits, Driving Licenses, Educational Certificates, signing of Power of Attorney documents, etc.
  • Renewal of SLBFE registration, providing advisory / information services with regard to employment related matters.

The Mobile Consular & Employment Welfare Service is usually held in parallel to the various community events such as New Year festivals, cricket tournaments, religious events, etc., where a large number of Sri Lankan migrant workers gather in order to obtain the above services.

The Embassy has also taken the initiative to conduct the Mobile Consular & Welfare at Migrant Support Centres in different cities on a need basis with the support of the Korean Government authorities to enable the Embassy to enhance the outreach to the Sri Lankan worker community located in remote regions in the Republic of Korea.
