National Museum of Korea conducts lecture on the ‘Preservation of Buddhist Heritage in Sri Lanka’


Director, Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology of Sri Lanka Prof. Jagath Weerasinghe delivered a lecture on the ‘Preservation of Buddhist Heritage in Sri Lanka: History and Challenges’ at the National Museum of Korea on Friday 27 October 2017 under the National Museum’s prestigious Museum Expert Programme.  The lecture was attended by the Korean public including experts and those interested in the history of Sri Lanka.  Prof. Weerasinghe was invited to the Republic of Korea by the National Museum of Korea under the ‘NMK 2017 Honored International Experts fellowship programme’.   During the visit, Prof. Weerasinghe also met with the Director General of the National Museum of Korea Dr. Bae Kidong, Head of the Asian Art Section Dr. Choi Seon Ju and discussed collaboration between the National Museum of Korea and equivalent institutions in Sri Lanka.
