Sri Lankan Scouts share their experiences of the World Scout Jamboree with Sri Lanka's Ambassador to South Korea
The Sri Lanka Scout contingent which participated at the 25th World Scout Jamboree met with Sri Lanka's Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Savitri Panabokke and Minister Counsellor (commerce) Ms. Chandima Abeyratne on 12th August 2023 in the city of Gimpo.
The Ambassador had cordial discussions with the Scouts, who shared their experiences of the World Scout Jamboree, their visit to South Korea and their ambitions for the future. She was also interviewed by a Scout who is aspiring to follow a career in journalism. The Ambassador presented all the Scouts with a souvenir to remind them of their visit to the Republic of Korea.
The Ambassador congratulated the Sri Lanka Scout contingent for representing their motherland so admirably at an international event, including showcasing the country's culture during the Sri Lanka Day at the Jamboree. She also praised their resilience and ability to adapt to changing situations during their visit and appreciated the efforts of Chief Commissioner Janaprith Fernando, International Commissioner and Contingent Leader Dr. Rajeeva Peiris and the management and unit leaders for their efforts to make Sri Lanka's participation at the 25th World Scout Jamboree a success.
Chief Commissioner Janaprith Fernando presented a token of appreciation of the Sri Lanka Scout Association to the Ambassador. He also thanked her and staff of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Seoul for all the assistance rendered to the Sri Lanka Scout contingent during their visit to the Republic of Korea.
The Sri Lankan Scout Contingent leaves the Republic of Korea on 16th August 2023.
