Republic of Korea provides firefighting protective gear to Sri Lanka
The Republic of Korea provided firefighting protective gear to Sri Lanka at a handover ceremony held during the opening of the newly established Gyeonggi Firefighting Equipment Logistics Centre on 24th April 2024. The items included helmets, jackets, gloves and boots that will strengthen Sri Lanka’s firefighting capabilities. The newly opened Centre is the first of its kind in the Gyeonggi-do region.
The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Korea, Savitri I. Panabokke, accepting the gear, thanked the Republic of Korea, the Gyeonggi do Province officials and the FLCM Foundation for providing these items. The items were presented to Sri Lanka on the request made by Hon. Anupa Pasqual, State Minister of Social Empowerment.
Firefighting protective equipment were also donated to Myanmar during this event.
Present at the handover ceremony was Mr. Ahn Kyei, Chairman of the Security and Public Administration Committee of the Gyeonggi-do Assembly, Mr. Yoo Gyunghyun, Member of the Committee on Security and Public Administration of the Gyeonggido Assembly, Mr. Ji Jun-ho Chief of the Bucheon City Fire Department and Mr. Kim Sung Chor, Chairman of the FLCM Foundation.
