Sri Lanka promoted as a potential destination for Korean businesses at the Korea Grand Sourcing Fair (KGSF) 2023. 

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Republic of Korea participated at the “Korea Grand Sourcing Fair (KGSF)” from 29th -30th November 2023 at the COEX Exhibition Center in Seoul, with a view of promoting Sri Lanka among Korean investors and importers as a potential destination for doing business.

During the event, the embassy promoted Sri Lanka as a sourcing destination for products such as Ceylon tea and spices. In addition, the investment opportunities and benefits of doing business with Sri Lanka was also highlighted. The head of trade section of the embassy, Ms. Chandima Abeyrathna, Minister Counsellor (Commercial) had a number of meetings with Korean companies to promote Sri Lanka products. Korean importers expressed strong interest on sourcing products from Sri Lanka and investing in the country.

The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Korea, Savitri I Panabokke, participated at the opening ceremony of the KGSF on 29th November 2023 and met with relevant representatives including Mr. Christopher Koo, Chairman, Korea International Trade Association (KITA). Sri Lanka’s participation at the event was coordinated by the trade section of the embassy.  

The KGSF is a platform organized by the KITA annually to enhance international trade, focusing on expanding business and investment opportunities across the globe.
